The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the postponement of a scheduled disciplinary committee hearing for former Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarfo was scheduled to appear before the NPP’s disciplinary committee on April 7, for flouting a directive to members to cease public discussions that create disaffection for the party.
The party believes the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection made comments that potentially exposed the NPP to public ridicule, prompting an internal inquiry.
According to an official letter dated April 6, 2025, and signed on behalf of the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, Patrick Boamah, the hearing originally scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025 has been formally postponed.
The decision, the letter noted, was due to “emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations.”
The party assured that a new date and time for the rescheduled hearing would be communicated promptly.
“We appreciate your anticipated cooperation and reaffirm the Party’s commitment to upholding the values of fairness, due process, and procedural integrity in all its deliberations,” the statement read.
