Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, has questioned the widespread commendation of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, urging Ghanaians to evaluate tangible achievements before offering praise.
Speaking on Oyerepa TV with Parker Wilson, Assafuah stated, “I like the fact he understands what he is doing, but within three months, what monumental project has he initiated that is helping Ghanaians? Let’s not cheapen our politics.”
Assafuah’s critique extended to former President John Dramani Mahama and the current administration. He accused Mahama of poor governance and expressed concerns about the lack of focus on key principles.
He said “His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is making numerous mistakes. John Mahama is not governing effectively; his leadership is very poor. Currently, Ghanaians are more concerned about the moralistic future of governance. How does that align with the principles of effective government?”
He added “The President’s budget indicates no new employment opportunities for the youth. If the youths celebrate social media posts as governance, we’re prioritizing trivialities, unnecessary things over substance,” he remarked.
