The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called on government appointees serving under President John Dramani Mahama to remain committed, ethical, and focused in the execution of their duties.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Jubilee House on Monday, June 2, the revered traditional leader reminded officials that their performance will directly influence public perception of the president and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“President Mahama has entrusted you with significant responsibilities because he believes in your abilities. The Ghanaian people are watching. Do not let him—or the nation—down,” Otumfuo cautioned.
He emphasized that integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to public service must guide their actions. The Asantehene also reiterated President Mahama’s firm stance against corruption, urging appointees to align themselves with this vision.
“If your intention is to exploit your position for personal gain, this is not the administration for that. The president has made his position clear. But if you serve with diligence and honesty, the impact will be visible and Ghana and the NDC will benefit,” he said.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II encouraged the officials to embrace their duties with a sense of purpose and accountability, reminding them that their collective efforts will shape the legacy of the Mahama administration.
“Serve with truth and humility,” he added. “The nation’s progress depends on your integrity and commitment.”
The visit reflects Otumfuo’s broader commitment to supporting responsible governance and national development, particularly as Ghana navigates a crucial period under President Mahama’s leadership.
