Dennis Miracles Aboagye, former Communications Director for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 campaign, has faced backlash on social media for criticizing President John Mahama’s administration.
Aboagye highlighted Ghana’s recent economic and social challenges, including power outages, rising fuel prices, and increased illegal mining (galamsey) under Mahama’s leadership.
Netizens responded critically, with some suggesting Aboagye should refrain from mimicking his former boss.

Comments included accusations of hypocrisy and lack of common sense, given the NPP’s past governance issues.

Others questioned Aboagye’s sudden re-emergence after the election, likening him to a “discharged patient” from a mental hospital. The criticism reflects broader skepticism about political rhetoric in Ghana.

The Communication Director for Bawumia‘s 2024 campaign, Mr. Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has criticized the current administration of President John Mahama, saying Ghana is facing serious economic and social challenges.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Aboagye said that in just three months of Mahama’s presidency, Ghana has experienced frequent power outages (known as dumsor), rising fuel prices, and an increase in illegal mining (galamsey).
A netizen with the Facebook name Amofa Baffoe commented “He’s selling himself out thst he lacks basic common sense for criticizing a government who’s yet to finalise his appointments. Good thing is the good people of Ghana are more discerning now and we can deduce such deceptive statements”.
Mike Agblevor also commented “Dr Bawumia lost the 2024 Presidential Election because of his utterances”
Philip Osei Agyen commented “All of a sudden, man has come back from his slumber”.
Kofi Kumah posted “Mental hospital has discharged another patient”
Ernestina Abena Ofoe asked “where did he go after the declaration”
Kojo Sedem comments “A pot calling the kettle black. What didn’t Ghanaians experience for the past eight years when the NPP was in power.”
