2M Express Ltd Denies Involvement in Ejisu-Konongo Accident, Calls for Accurate Reporting

Leading Ghanaian inter-city transport company 2M Express Ltd has categorically denied media reports linking one of its vehicles to the tragic road accident that occurred on August 6, 2025, along the Ejisu-Konongo (Kubease) route.

The company labeled these reports as false and misleading in an official statement released today.

2M Express stated clearly that no bus from its fleet was involved in the accident.

The statement emphasized “2M Express Ltd wishes to firmly clarify and correct a false report published by Joy News and several media outlets on 6th August 2025. Contrary to these claims, we confirm that no 2M Express vehicle was involved in the tragic road accident on the Ejisu-Konongo (Kubease) route or elsewhere.”

They emphasized the following points to set the record straight:

• The bus involved in the accident, bearing registration number GJ 2206-21, is not a 2M Express vehicle.

• The vehicle shown in images and footage circulating in the media does not match 2M Express’s branding or fleet specifications.

The company extended its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident, praying for their souls to rest in peace.

“We express our sincere and deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the said accident on the Ejisu-Konongo (Kubease) road on August 6, 2025. May their souls rest in perfect peace. Our thoughts and prayers remain with them and their grieving families,” the statement noted.

2M Express reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and operational excellence, highlighting its use of advanced monitoring technologies.

“As the leading name in Ghana’s inter-city transport sector, 2M Express Ltd remains fully committed to passenger safety and operational excellence.

“Our entire fleet is equipped with real-time GPS tracking and video monitoring systems, monitored 24/7 through a dedicated Command and Control Center.

The statement continued, “We employ advanced vehicle monitoring technology that detects over-speeding, reckless driving patterns, route deviations, and unauthorized behaviour. This system ensures swift disciplinary action and rapid emergency response, safeguarding lives and reinforcing our zero-tolerance stance on road indiscipline,” the statement added.

In the same statement, 2M Express also acknowledged the country’s somber mood following a separate, tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several public officials and military personnel, including key government ministers and national security figures.

The company expressed solidarity with the nation in mourning these losses.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with them and their grieving families.”

Again, 2M Express urged media outlets to maintain the highest journalistic standards by verifying facts before publication to avoid unjust harm to reputations and added pain for grieving families.

“While we mourn collectively, we respectfully urge media outlets to uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity by rigorously verifying facts before publication. Misreporting can unfairly tarnish reputations and deepen the grief of affected families,” 2M Express Ltd remarked.

They encouraged media representatives to contact their communications office for accurate information and reserved the right to seek corrections to uphold fairness and accuracy.
