The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has officially launched a new online application portal to enable first-year students at public tertiary institutions in Ghana to register for financial support under the government’s flagship No-Fee-Stress policy.
The No-Fee-Stress policy is described by the Minister as a transformative and visionary initiative aimed at removing the financial barriers that prevent many Ghanaian students from accessing higher education.
The policy is positioned as a strategic investment in Ghana’s human capital and a key driver of inclusive and accessible tertiary education.
The newly launched portal, managed by the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), offers a simplified and user-friendly registration process. Students can easily submit their information, which allows the SLTF to efficiently verify eligibility for government-backed financial assistance.
The portal is now live and accessible at https://www.nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh and https://www.sltf.gov.gh.
Dr. Saajida Shiraz, CEO of the SLTF, reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to the successful rollout and implementation of the policy, in line with its mandate to provide financial resources to students at accredited tertiary institutions.
How to Apply
To apply for support, SLTF stressed that students are required to provide their Ghana Card, an email address, and an e-zwich card. The portal is designed for easy navigation, ensuring that applicants can complete the process with minimal difficulty.
Also, Students needing assistance with the application or seeking more information can contact the SLTF helpline at 0302751020 or visit any of the Fund’s zonal offices across the country
