The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to host His Majesty King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini in a high-profile visit to the Asante Kingdom from June 24 to 28, 2025.

A large billboard mounted at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi announces the upcoming royal engagement, bearing portraits of both monarchs and the flags of Ghana and Eswatini.

The visit is expected to strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties between the Asante Kingdom and the southern African nation.

King Mswati III, who is both the head of state and the reigning monarch of Eswatini, will be welcomed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool and spiritual leader of the Ashanti people.

The visit underscores the longstanding tradition of solidarity among African royals and marks a rare and historic interaction between two highly revered traditional leaders on the continent.

The Manhyia Palace has yet to release the full itinerary of the visit, but sources close to the Palace suggest that the week-long event will include a series of cultural ceremonies, private engagements, and discussions focused on traditional leadership, development, and inter-kingdom collaboration.

This is expected to be one of the most significant traditional visits in recent Ghanaian history, further positioning Kumasi as a center for African royalty and cultural diplomacy.
