Founder and leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has predicted that Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.
The prophecy, which was made public on Thursday, January 1, 2026, was shared on media platforms as part of the prophet’s New Year declarations.
According to the statement attributed to Prophet Gaisie, the Black Stars are destined to reach the finals of the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
He did not, however, provide specific details on how far the team would progress beyond qualification.
The declaration has sparked mixed reactions among football fans and the general public, with some expressing optimism about Ghana’s chances, while others have urged focus on technical preparation, team development and performance on the pitch rather than spiritual predictions.
Ghana is currently competing in the African qualifiers for the expanded 48-team World Cup, with expectations high following recent reforms in the management and technical direction of the national team.
Prophet Gaisie is known for making annual prophecies on national issues, including politics, entertainment and sports, some of which have previously generated public debate and controversy.
Neither the Ghana Football Association (GFA) nor the technical team of the Black Stars has commented on the prophecy. Officials have consistently maintained that qualification will depend on discipline, hard work and results during the qualification campaign.
The Black Stars are seeking to return to the World Cup after missing out on qualification for the 2022 knockout stages and facing inconsistent performances in recent international competitions.
