The Akyem Kotoku State has pledged to deepen its collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Ghana’s security services to strengthen peace and security within the traditional area and across the country.
The commitment was made during a visit by a delegation from the Akyem Kotoku State to the Office of the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, in Accra.
The delegation was led by the Paramount Chief of Akyem Kotoku, Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, and included the Queen and other traditional leaders.

According to the Interior Minister, discussions centered on security concerns within the Akyem Kotoku traditional area and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation between traditional authorities and the government to improve safety and security.
Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV commended the government’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s security sector, describing ongoing initiatives as commendable and urging the authorities to continue pursuing measures aimed at safeguarding the country.

The paramount chief also reaffirmed the readiness of the Akyem Kotoku State to work closely with the Ministry and the security agencies in addressing security challenges within the traditional area.
He emphasized the commitment of traditional authorities to support government security initiatives through the provision of land and other forms of assistance for security-related projects.
The Interior Minister expressed appreciation to the chiefs and traditional leaders for what he described as their unwavering support and commitment to the development of the Akyem Kotoku State.
He commended the traditional leadership for prioritizing security issues and assured them of the Ministry’s readiness to continue collaborating with traditional authorities to improve security delivery nationwide.
Mr. Muntaka also reiterated the government’s commitment to retooling the country’s security services to enhance their operational effectiveness and capacity to respond to emerging security threats.
He further assured the delegation that the Ministry would continue to work closely with the Akyem Kotoku State in addressing its security needs and promoting peace and stability within the area.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of the Interior to strengthen partnerships with traditional authorities, whose role is widely regarded as crucial in maintaining peace, preventing conflicts and supporting community-based security initiatives across Ghana.
