Sarah Adwoa Safo, daughter of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has publicly accepted her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as the leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
In a statement, the former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya said she had chosen reconciliation following the death of their father.
She said the time had come for the family to move beyond the differences, misunderstandings and grievances that followed the death of the Apostle.
“The time has come for us, as a family, to transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances that may have characterised the immediate aftermath of the demise of our dear dad and consign them to history,” she said.
“I have chosen the path of conciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she added.
Sarah Adwoa Safo said she had “immense love and respect” for Israel Kwadwo Safo and publicly acknowledged him as the leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
“He has my full support, and I state unequivocally, that I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,” she said.
She said their father’s legacy belonged to the entire family and was a responsibility that all his children must preserve.
“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children and it is a charge we must keep and hold on to, dearly,” she said.
“We must therefore rise above our differences, preserve what he built and ensure that his ideals continue to inspire generations to come.”
Sarah Adwoa Safo also called on members of the Kristo Asafo Church, the wider Kantanka family and others associated with her father’s work to acknowledge and respect the unity of the family.
“Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she said.
She extended her goodwill and best wishes to Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings, expressing hope that the new chapter would bring healing, unity and renewed strength as they work to preserve their father’s legacy.
