Former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene has been arrested again immediately after being released on bail in a GHc49 million theft case due to another unrelated matter.
This development emerged at the High Court in Accra on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Adu-Boahene’s lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, informed the court of the rearrest after confirming his client’s release on bail following a 7-day remand.
The remand had been granted on May 2 after the Attorney General accused Adu-Boahene of tampering with witnesses.
Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem Sai mentioned that the prosecution’s witnesses had signed their statements.
The court directed the Attorney General to file witness statements and disclosures by May 20, 2025, and adjourned the case to May 26, 2025, for a Case Management Conference.
Adu-Boahene, along with his wife Angela Adjei Boateng, Mildred Donkor, and Advantage Solutions Limited, pleaded not guilty to charges including stealing, defrauding by false pretense, and money laundering.
These charges relate to the alleged misappropriation of $7 million in state funds for a cyber defense system.
The court proceedings continue with the Attorney General presenting brief facts to the court. Adu-Boahene’s latest arrest may be connected to another case.
EIB Network Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah who is in Court reports that, his latest arrest is in relation to the Ghana Water Company Limited Scandal.
