The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development during an engagement with traditional leaders at the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs.
The meeting, which brought together the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), party executives, and supporters, provided a platform for the minister to outline progress made since the National Democratic Congress (NDC) assumed office.

Addressing the chiefs, Hon. Gardiner emphasized the importance of collaborative leadership, noting that effective governance requires active engagement with traditional authorities whose guidance continues to shape the region’s development.
She used the occasion to brief the chiefs on key achievements recorded so far, describing them as tangible improvements aimed at uplifting livelihoods across the region.
According to her, these efforts are designed to create opportunities for young people, ease economic pressures on families, and support local businesses.

A major highlight of her address was the announcement that all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the Ahafo Region have benefited from the government’s 24-hour Satellite Market initiative, introduced under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
Hon. Gardiner explained that the initiative is expected to boost job creation, enhance trading activities, and improve economic conditions for residents.
She noted that the program would particularly benefit traders and contribute to strengthening the regional economy while encouraging local investment.
“This initiative represents renewed hope for our communities and a step toward economic inclusion,” she said.
The minister also commended the chiefs for their continued role in promoting peace, unity, and development in the region, describing their support as essential to the success of government programs.
She expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between government and traditional authorities would help drive the region’s development agenda and improve the lives of residents.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the regional administration to deepen stakeholder collaboration and accelerate socio-economic growth in Ahafo.
