Dr. Obiri Yeboah slams Ayew Afriyie’s Galamsey comments as “Useless Possessive Statement”

Dr. Obiri Yeboah, a financial consultant and political analyst, has strongly criticized the Akufo-Addo-led administration, stating it has committed more sins comparing to the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration.

Dr. Obiri Yeboah in an interview with Kojo Marfo on AbusuaNkommo asserted that the current regime has quadrupled Mahama’s errors, citing Ghana’s deteriorating economy and polluted river bodies.

He said “every error, every sin, every blunder Mahama committed the current regime has committed times 4. Any sins Mahama did Akufo-Addo led govt has quadrupled it”.

Dr. Obiri Yeboah, who campaigned against Mahama in 2016, expressed frustration that few are addressing the galamsey issue.

He noted “Nobody is speaking wisdom from adults to children to pastors, only few is talking about Galamsey. What happened; Is our mouth gagged? .

He added “In 2016, I was part of those that campaign against Mahama. I was part of some people called “Operation Adopt Polling Station”, we were having our meetings at a hotel around santasi, one polling station we were paying Ghc520, I paid 4 because at that time i thought was not doing well”.

Dr. Obiri Yeboah warned that the consequences of galamsey are severe, in response to questions about the government’s handling of illegal mining.

He emphasized “when someone sits there and says that ending galamsey will increase unemployment, it’s akin to arguing that armed robbers should also be tolerated because that’s the only livelihood they know. However, the truth remains: every form of illegality is still illegality”.

Again, Dr. Obiri Yeboah described the activities of illegal mining as dangerous compared to armed robbery.

“Our people are drinking poisoned water; it’s more dangerous than armed robbery”, he opined.
