Ama Governor, a Ghanaian attorney and revolutionist, today sent a love letter to all comrades across the country fighting for the wellbeing of the Ghanaian people.
Ama Governor was among the 53 Democracy Hub protesters who were arrested during an anti- galamsey demonstration last week.
Accra Circuit Court has remanded the Covenor of FixTheCountry movement, Ama Governor, and eight others into Police custody for two weeks.
They all pleaded not guilty to six counts of conspiracy, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace, assault on public officer and defacement of public notice.
While in police custody, a letter released by Ama Governor described October 3, 2024, as a historic day, stressing that activists hitting the streets to demand the immediate release of the 53 Democracy Hub protesters who were arrested during an anti galamsey protest.
She disclosed that today is great day Ghana has never seen before.
“Ghana has never seen a day as great as this 3rd October 2024, where Ghana Youth, in spite of the lines of strength in our unity, chooses to pick up division planted to subvert the Comraderie in marching side-by-side to fight against the devastating effects of Illegal Mining on the health, resources and well-being of the Ghanaian people; demand government accountability and to free political Prisoners”.
She however noted that “Today, Ghana Youth arises, and not only recommits to the struggle began by our foremothers and fathers, but have reignited the long-lost hope of realizing Nkrumah’s Ghana”.
Ama Governor hailed the protest as historic and remarkable, noting that “Nkrumah smiles as timidity wails in the face of the resilience demonstrated by this historic and remarkable protest”.
