Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has left the official palace residence to pay his respect to the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Asantehemaa.
The king was seen seated in palanquin locally known as Apakan, surrounded by thousands of people preparing to view the late queen mother’s body.
Among those accompanying Otumfuo were numerous chiefs, the Abrafo (traditional bodyguards), and members of the public, all gathered to honor the Asantehenaa.
After paying his respect at the body of his sister at the Asantehemaa Palace, also in Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene will return to receive guests as he continues to mourn the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
