Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo constituency, has called on Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene to prioritize tangible development over social media theatrics and political showmanship.
Speaking in an interview with Oyerepa TV, Assafuah urged the minister to focus on impactful leadership that addresses the region’s pressing needs.
“Let us remind him that governance is about development,” Assafuah stated.
“If Dr. Amoakohene wants to do social media gymnastics and politics, and that’s what he wants to be remembered for, no problem. But well-meaning Ghanaians will judge his legacy after four years.”
When asked if the minister’s current approach could weaken the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) influence in the Ashanti Region, Assafuah expressed concern.
“Well-meaning people and elders in the region are watching closely,” he said.
He added “At the end of the day, people will evaluate his real impact. He should be able to make an impact, but so far, I haven’t seen any significant results.”
