The Ashanti Sub-Transmission of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has honoured its Head of Public Relations, Mr Collins Manu, for his outstanding contribution to promoting the company’s activities and strengthening its public image through strategic media engagement.
The recognition was conferred at the Ashanti Sub-Transmission End-of-Year Staff Ceremony held at the forecourt of the General Manager’s Residence, where management celebrated the dedication and professionalism of staff and retirees whose efforts supported the region’s operations in 2025.
Mr Manu, who recently earned the prestigious Accredited Public Relations (APR) certification from the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, was cited for effectively translating complex technical operations into clear, people-centred stories that resonate with the public and key stakeholders.

Through sustained media relations and deliberate storytelling, he has increased public awareness of Ashanti Sub-Transmission and ECG’s work in the Ashanti Region, highlighting areas such as infrastructure development, system maintenance and reliability, fault management, technical collaborations, and the deployment of real-time power data systems.
His communications work also drew attention to innovative initiatives including wildlife mitigation projects, capacity-building programmes, energy accounting, corporate social responsibility activities, and practical industrial training opportunities for students.
By simplifying and humanising engineering and operational activities, Mr Manu’s efforts have enhanced public understanding of power transmission operations while strengthening trust and confidence in ECG’s service delivery.
Speaking at the ceremony, the General Manager of Ashanti Sub-Transmission, Ing. Peter Kofi Fletcher, praised Mr Manu for using strategic communication to bridge the gap between technical operations and public appreciation, noting that effective communication is vital to sustaining stakeholder confidence in the power sector.
The ceremony also recognised Mr Richard Ntiamoah as Technical Staff of the Year 2025, in acknowledgement of his exceptional technical expertise, dedication and contribution to operational excellence.
