The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has arrived in the Ashanti Region for a working visit and New Year engagement with key stakeholders across the region.
The visit forms part of the party’s broader efforts to strengthen consultation, deepen collaboration and align priorities to enhance effective governance and party organisation in the region.
As part of his itinerary, Mr. Asiedu Nketia paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, at the Regional Coordinating Council in Kumasi.
The meeting provided an opportunity for discussions on governance, regional development and cooperation between political leadership and state institutions.
According to party officials, the National Chairman’s visit underscores the NDC’s commitment to constructive engagement, unity of purpose and inclusive dialogue as the party positions itself to contribute to national development.
The engagement is also expected to reinforce internal party cohesion in the Ashanti Region, a key political stronghold, while fostering collaboration with stakeholders to advance the socio-economic progress of the region.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia is expected to hold further meetings with party executives, traditional leaders and other stakeholders during his stay, as part of efforts to promote a shared vision for the development of the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.
