The Zug-Raan of Kusaug, Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, has intervened to restore peace following recent violent encounters between Kusasi youth and police personnel in the Kusaug Traditional Area.
In a press release issued by the Zug-Raan Palace, the traditional ruler directed both parties to engage in dialogue and reconciliation to maintain law and order in the region.
This initiative was facilitated by the Kusaag Advisory Council, which successfully mediated a peace process between the youth leaders and the Ghana Police Service.
As a result of the dialogue, the youth have launched a sensitization campaign across the six districts and municipality within Kusaug.
The campaign aims to reinforce the commitment to peaceful coexistence and collaboration with the police.
The Zug-Raan expressed appreciation to the youth for their understanding and acknowledged the cooperation of the police service.
He assured officers and their families of their safety and praised efforts to restore full policing services in the area.
He also extended gratitude to the Kusaag Advisory Council for its vital role in promoting dialogue and peace in the community.
The statement was signed by David Adoliba, Secretary to the Overlord, on behalf of the Zug-Raan.
