The Interim Executive of the BlueLight Traders Association (BLTA) has extended its deepest sympathies and solidarity to members who lost their goods, capital, and livelihoods in the devastating fire that swept through the Blue Light area of Kumasi’s Central Business District on Friday, March 21, 2025.
In a statement, the association acknowledged the pain and distress its members are facing and encouraged them to remain resilient and united as efforts are made to rebuild their businesses.
The Interim Executive assured affected traders that it is actively engaging with the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and other relevant stakeholders to expedite the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the affected area.
“We recognize the gravity of this unfortunate event and understand the uncertainty this has caused for you and your families. We urge you to remain hopeful and steadfast as we work towards rebuilding our community,” the statement read.
The association pledged to keep members updated on the progress of negotiations and recovery efforts, emphasizing that the goal is to restore the BlueLight community to its former glory and beyond.
The BLTA called on traders to stay strong and united during this challenging period, assuring them that collective efforts will help them recover and rebuild their businesses swiftly.
