The High Court in Kumasi has granted an interlocutory injunction restraining a former solicitor of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Kwame Adofo the Holy Trinity Chambers at Adum–kumasi, from revealing any confidential information about the hospital.
The order, signed by Chief Registrar Ustarz Hamza, bars Kwame Addo from disclosing any information he obtained while working as solicitor for the hospital between 2018 and December 2023.
The information includes confidential matters related to the hospital’s management, workers, and third-party dealings.
The court also prohibited Mr. Adofo from posting on social media platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, or discussing any issues concerning the hospital on radio or television.
This restraint applies specifically to his tenure as solicitor from 2018 to December 2023. The plaintiff, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, sought the injunction to protect its confidentiality and prevent potential harm to its reputation.
The court’s order will remain in effect until the final determination of the suit. This development highlights the importance of maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethics, particularly in sensitive industries like healthcare.
