Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe constituency and Minister of Education, has called on Ghanaians from all political backgrounds to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 elections.
He emphasized that the continuation of the party’s transformative efforts in education hinges on their victory, urging citizens to consider the progress made under the leadership of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer.
Speaking passionately at the launch of Bawumia Volunteers 2024 (B24), a grassroots campaign initiative in Kumasi, Dr. Adutwum highlighted that education remains a key issue in the upcoming elections.
“Education is on the ballot,” he said, urging Ghanaians to vote with the future of their children in mind. He noted that the gains made in the education sector, including infrastructure development and policy reforms, are at risk if the NPP is not re-elected.
Dr. Adutwum celebrated the success of flagship initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (SHS) program, which has alleviated the financial burden on many parents.
He assured voters that, if re-elected, the NPP would continue to transform public education, with plans to upgrade high schools with modern equipment and enhance educational quality across all levels, from kindergarten to SHS.
He further outlined the NPP’s vision for ensuring access to Free, Compulsory, Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) and called for the complete transformation of junior high schools (JHS), including the provision of fully equipped laboratories for biology, chemistry, and physics.
These reforms, he said, would enable all children, regardless of their background, to access high-quality education and compete globally.
In closing, Dr. Adutwum stressed that Ghana is making significant strides on the global stage but requires another four years under NPP leadership to fully realize its educational vision.
He called on voters to support the NPP for the future of the nation and the continued betterment of society.
The event, which saw the official launch of the *Bawumia Volunteers 2024* (B24) movement, was chaired by Dr. Adutwum, with Andy Thomas Owusu serving as the national coordinator.
B24 aims to lead a strategic, nationwide grassroots campaign in support of the NPP’s efforts ahead of the December 2024 elections.
