The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, paid a working visit to Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains to engage with the District Assembly and inspect key government facilities.
His visit aimed to evaluate the progress of development projects and address pressing concerns regarding infrastructure and service delivery in the area.
During the visit, Dr. Amoakohene raised concerns about the early deterioration of newly constructed government structures, questioning the value for money and the effectiveness of the country’s maintenance culture.

In response, he announced that contractors and assembly engineers have been invited to address these issues promptly to ensure the integrity of public infrastructure.

As part of his engagements, the minister also met with Drobonsoman Hene, Otumfuo Brempong, to express gratitude on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama for the traditional leader’s continuous support and guidance.

A key highlight of the visit was the inspection of the abandoned Drobonso E-Block, a major educational project meant to enhance access to secondary education in the district.
Dr. Amoakohene assured residents that work on the facility would resume soon to ensure its completion and subsequent use by students.

The Minister further toured the Drobonso District Hospital, which was commissioned before the last general election but has yet to become operational.
The minister revealed that plans are underway to resolve outstanding challenges, including staffing issues, and that his office will collaborate with Kumawu Hospital to provide the necessary support to make the facility fully functional.
Dr. Amoakohene reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and healthcare services to all communities, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that investments in public facilities translate into tangible benefits for residents.
“We remain committed to building a stronger and more resilient Sekyere Afram Plains, ensuring that every community has access to essential services,” he stated.
His visit is part of broader efforts to monitor development initiatives across the region and address challenges hindering their completion and effective utilization.
