The Member of Parliament for Wa East, Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw, says he is lobbying the Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies to upgrade the Bulenga and Loggu Health Centres into polyclinics.
He said the proposed upgrades would significantly expand healthcare services available to residents of the district, including access to more specialised care.
Dr Jasaw disclosed this at Loggu on Monday, September 15, 2026, when he joined the District Chief Executive, Hon. Adamu Sayibu, to commission three health facilities in the district.
The facilities comprise newly constructed CHPS compounds at Yaala No. 2 and Chaggu, and a newly completed children’s and maternity ward at Loggu.
The Loggu ward was initiated by the community and completed with support from Dr Jasaw after he was informed about the project. The MP also provided essential medical equipment to help make the facility functional.
Dr Jasaw further disclosed that procurement of theatre equipment for the Bulenga Health Centre had been completed as part of efforts to strengthen the facility ahead of its proposed upgrade.
He also assured residents of Loggu that similar theatre equipment would be procured for their health centre to support the planned transformation into a polyclinic.
The MP commended the people of Loggu for initiating the maternity and children’s ward, describing their effort as an example of community participation in improving healthcare delivery.
After the Loggu commissioning, Dr Jasaw and the DCE proceeded to Yaala No. 2 and Chaggu, where they commissioned the two CHPS compounds to improve access to basic healthcare in the communities.
Dr Jasaw reaffirmed his commitment to working with the relevant ministries and agencies to expand health infrastructure and improve healthcare delivery across Wa East.
