Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamaklo, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the National House of Chiefs, and the National Peace (NPC) Council to closely monitor the actions of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the lead-up to the December 7th elections.
Speaking on Starr Chat with veteran journalist Nathan Kwabena Adisi Anokye, popularly known as Bola Ray, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe expressed concerns about the EC’s handling of the electoral process.
“The Asantehene, the National House of Chiefs, and the Peace Council must engage with the EC. If we take lightly how the commission is conducting this election, there will be no peace after December 7th,” he warned.
The seasoned politician also expressed dissatisfaction with his own party’s performance, stating, “When a political party is winning an election, you can tell. Listen to what the people are saying. My party, the NPP, has not performed to the satisfaction of the general public.”
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe further cautioned against any attempts to manipulate the election results against the will of the people, emphasizing that such actions could lead to unrest.
The senior citizen criticized the Peace Council for failing to live up to expectations, particularly in ensuring justice for those who lost their lives in the last election.
“What has the Peace Council done to secure justice for those who were killed in the last election? This council is heading toward disaster; we must be cautious with the upcoming elections,” he warned.
