The reinstated Central regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has promised to capture 20 Parliamentary Seat in the Central Region on 7th December 2024 for the NDC.
Addressing over 2000 party members who converged at the party’s regional office to welcome him back to his position after he returned from suspension by the party’s national executives.
Chairman, Prof. Richard Kofi Aseidu, was suspended for a month over the suspension of one of the party’s parliamentary candidates who is alleged to have had amorous sexual relations with a wife of his constituency secretary without consulting the party’s national executives.
Addressing the party supporters upon his return to office, he said, ” I’m optimistic of winning 20 Parliamentary Seat for the NDC in the Central Region in election 2024. He urged the party supporters to hit the ground with door to door and room to room, market to market with the NDC’s campaign policies to ensure their vision and mission in the election 2024 is achieved’’.
He said New Patriotic Party members in the central region jubilated when they heard about his suspension thinking he was not going to reoccupy his position to give them free role to operate the region.
“ I want to tell the NPP supporters that I’m back and to win the election for President Mahama and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang without fear and panic’’ he reiterated
He then called on the party faithful to approach the elections with a united front devoid of acrimony which can divert the party’s focus on campaign activities.
The NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Naa Koryor also assured the party she is poised to snatch the parliamentary seat from incumbent MP Mavis Hawa Koomson.
She urged the party to rally behind the regional chairman to achieve the party’s target of winning 20 parliamentary seats in the central region on 7th December 2024.
