Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Kwaku Asante has been formally installed as the first Chancellor of Christian Service University, pledging to uphold the institution’s Christian values and build on its mission as a newly chartered university.
Delivering his acceptance speech at a ceremony attended by members of the University Council, management, clergy, faculty, students, alumni and invited guests, Prof. Asante described his appointment as both a great honour and a solemn responsibility.
“I accept this role with deep humility and an unwavering commitment to our shared mission and vision,” he said, noting that the occasion marked a significant milestone in the University’s history.

The Chancellor paid tribute to the founding fathers, mothers and friends whose vision, sacrifice and faith laid the foundation of Christian Service University. He also acknowledged the contributions of missionaries of the West Africa Evangelical Mission (WEC) and their Ghanaian collaborators, whose spiritual dedication and partnership helped shape the institution’s ethos.
Prof. Asante commended past Council chairmen, presidents and vice chancellors for their leadership, singling out the immediate past President and first Vice Chancellor, Professor Kofi Affranie, and former Council chairmen for their roles in steering the University to chartered status.
He further expressed appreciation to the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Cape Coast for their mentorship and support during the University’s developmental years.

Addressing faculty, staff and students, the Chancellor praised their commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth, describing them as the “heartbeat” of Christian Service University. He called for unity, renewed hard work and partnership, stressing the need to uphold high moral and academic standards.
Reaffirming the University’s mission, Prof. Asante said Christian Service University remains committed to training professionals of integrity who combine academic excellence with Christian values to serve both God and society.

The installation of Prof. Asante as Chancellor marks a new chapter for Christian Service University as it seeks to consolidate its gains and expand its impact in higher education in Ghana and beyond.
