The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheik Abdul Mumin Haroun, has publicly endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, as the most suitable choice among the 13 candidates vying for the presidency in the upcoming December 7 election.
Speaking at a gathering of NPP supporters and various community groups at the Church of Pentecost in Suame, the Chief Imam called on Ghanaian Muslims to vote for Bawumia.
“I’m a Muslim, and Dr. Bawumia is also a Muslim, so I am urging all Muslims to support our son, Dr. Bawumia,” he said. Emphasizing the significance of this election, he added, “I am standing here in the Church of Pentecost, telling all Muslims to vote for Dr. Bawumia so that we can make history in this country.”
The Chief Imam praised Dr. Bawumia as the most capable candidate, stating, “Among the 13 candidates, Bawumia is the most intelligent.
The others are just talking without real solutions to Ghana’s problems.” He further highlighted Bawumia’s contributions to the government, expressing confidence that he would bring remarkable improvements if elected. “I believe that if he is given the mandate, he will work wonders for this country. Dr. Bawumia has the knowledge to transform Ghana.”
Apostle Francis Owusu, representing the Suame Christian community, echoed the Chief Imam’s endorsement, affirming that the community recognizes Dr. Bawumia’s contributions and pledging their support for him in the election.
Additionally, Baffour Kotei, speaking on behalf of the Breman Traditional Council, urged NPP supporters to unite and work toward a successful campaign for both Dr. Bawumia and Suame’s parliamentary candidate, John Darko, emphasizing the importance of unity for electoral success.
