Alhaji Saani Senior, a former Ashanti Regional Vice Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has passed away.
His death was confirmed on Tuesday, though details surrounding the circumstances remain unclear.
Family sources say burial arrangements are underway and, in accordance with Islamic tradition, he will be laid to rest today.
Alhaji Saani Senior was a well-known figure in regional political circles and is remembered for his years of service and influence within the Ashanti Region for the NDC.
