Ghana’s Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has held talks with senior Lebanese security officials in Accra aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation against transnational crime.
In a statement following the meeting, the minister said the visit underscored joint efforts by Ghana and Lebanon to tackle cross-border crimes, including cyber fraud, drug trafficking and money laundering.
The Lebanese delegation was led by Ali Samih Jaafar, Ghana’s Consul General in Lebanon. Other members included Morshed El Hajj Sleiman, deputy director of state security in Lebanon; Ayman Machmouchi, head of the Drug Repression Bureau; and Salah El Hajj, head of the Office of the Deputy State Security.
Mohammed-Mubarak said discussions focused on fostering collaboration between the two countries’ security agencies to enhance safety and intelligence-sharing.
“The fight against transnational crimes can only be won if nations work together,” he said.
The meeting forms part of broader efforts by Ghana to strengthen international partnerships in addressing organised crime and related security threats.
