A formal ceremony was held on Monday to mark a leadership transition within the Ghana Armed Forces, during which a vehicle was presented to the outgoing Forces Sergeant Major (FSM).
Speaking in a Facebook post, Deputy Minister of Defence Ernest Brogya Genfi said the presentation was made on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, John Dramani Mahama.

The vehicle was presented to the outgoing FSM, Chief Warrant Officer Addo Daniel, in recognition of his service. He subsequently handed over responsibilities to his successor, Chief Warrant Officer Zakariah Al Hassan, in what the Deputy Minister described as a “dignified transition.”

The ceremony was attended by senior military leadership, including the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Service Chiefs, and the Chief of Staff at General Headquarters (GHQ).
Mr. Brogya Genfi commended the military leadership for their presence and support, as well as for honouring the outgoing FSM with gifts.
He praised Chief Warrant Officer Addo Daniel for his more than three decades of dedicated service to the nation, expressing appreciation for his contributions to the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Deputy Minister also welcomed the incoming FSM, Chief Warrant Officer Zakariah Al Hassan, expressing confidence in his ability to take on the responsibilities of the office.
The Forces Sergeant Major is the highest-ranking non-commissioned officer in the Ghana Armed Forces and plays a key role in maintaining discipline and standards across the services.
