In a scathing rebuke, Nana Ohene Ntow, former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and current Special Advisor to Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, has denounced the NPP, warning Ghanaians of dire consequences if they re-elect the party.
“What the NPP has done to this country is appalling,” Ohene Ntow declared. “If Ghanaians renew their mandate, the NPP will never respect Ghanaians again. Even in our current state, if the NPP can win an election, Ghanaians should forget about it.”
Ohene Ntow spoke candidly about the state of the nation, citing ‘unbearable’ levels of corruption and hardship. “If the people of Ghana vote for the NPP, I’m telling you my heart, the NPP will never respect the people of this country again.”
In an interview with Captain Smart on OnuaTV, he emphasized that the NPP’s victory would be catastrophic, stating, “the NPP cannot and should not win this election by any means, fair or foul. If they are able to win the election in this state, what else is left again?”
He revealed that he has thought deeply about his own future and is uncertain about the consequences of returning to the NPP.
“I don’t know what would happen if I were to go back to that party, to join that party, I don’t know what the consequences would be”, he said.
Ohene Ntow also denied rumors that Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, is planning to return to the NPP.
He said “They say we{Movement for Change Members} are coming back, and Alan going back, I Ohene Ntow am telling you Alan Kyerematen has not made his mind to return to NPP. You can go and ask him; he is not returning, period.”
Ohene Ntow expressed his confidence in Alan Kyerematen’s leadership abilities.
“Anything can happen. Alan wants to lead his nation; if God and Ghanaians accept him, he will be given the opportunity. If he don’t and so what?” he quizzes.
