Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, the revered Goasomanhene, has passed away. The announcement was made by Otumfuo Kyeame Antwi Boasiako during a meeting of the Asanteman Council on Monday, December 16, 2024.
The solemn declaration was received with grief by the council members, as the loss marks the end of an era for Goaso and the Ashanti Kingdom at large.
Nana Bosomprah, known for his leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the development of his people, held a prominent place in the traditional governance structure of the Ashanti Region.
Otumfuo Kyeame Antwi Boasiako, speaking on behalf of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, described Nana Bosomprah’s death as a significant loss to the kingdom.
“He was a pillar of strength and a symbol of unity for Goaso and the Ashanti Kingdom,” the Kyeame stated.
As the Goasomanhene, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah was instrumental in spearheading numerous development initiatives, including education, healthcare, and cultural preservation within the Goaso Traditional Area.
His contributions extended beyond his jurisdiction, earning him respect and admiration across the nation.
Details about funeral arrangements and the succession process are yet to be announced.
The Asanteman Council has urged the people of Goaso and the entire Ashanti Region to remain united during this period of mourning.
Nana Kwasi Bosomprah’s legacy as a traditional leader, mentor, and advocate for progress will undoubtedly endure, leaving an indelible mark on the Ashanti Kingdom and Ghana as a whole.
