The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has restored power supply after a fault on parts of the national transmission network caused electricity outages across sections of the Northern, Middle and Western Regions.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, GRIDCo said the disturbance occurred at about 3:16 p.m. on Monday, February 9, when a fault developed on some transmission lines, disrupting power supply to affected areas.
The company said engineers undertook swift and coordinated restoration works, leading to the full recovery of the National Interconnected Transmission System by 8:09 p.m. the same day.
GRIDCo assured the public that continuous measures are being implemented to strengthen the reliability and resilience of the transmission network to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.
The company apologised to customers and stakeholders for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their patience and understanding.
GRIDCo is responsible for the transmission and economic dispatch of electricity from wholesale power producers to bulk customers and distribution utilities in Ghana and across West Africa. It operates the National Interconnected Transmission System and currently transmits electricity from 11 wholesale suppliers to 31 bulk customers and distribution utilities nationwide.
