A legal dispute has emerged as Hollistar Duah-Yentumi has filed an application at the High Court of Justice, General Jurisdiction, seeking an interlocutory injunction against SIC Insurance PLC and its purported Managing Director, James Agyenim-Boateng.
The plaintiff Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, represented by counsel E.N. Poku Esq., is requesting the court to restrain Agyenim-Boateng from acting as or purporting to act as the Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC.
Additionally, the application seeks to bar SIC Insurance and all related parties from recognizing or presenting Agyenim-Boateng as the company’s Managing Director.
The legal action is based on allegations that Agyenim-Boateng’s position is not legally tenable, prompting the plaintiff to seek judicial intervention under Order 25 Rule 1(1) to (3) of C.I. 47.
The motion, supported by an affidavit, is expected to be heard in due course.
The case has drawn attention within corporate and legal circles, raising questions about governance and executive appointments within one of Ghana’s leading insurance firms.
SIC Insurance PLC, a publicly listed company, has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
The High Court is expected to deliberate on the application and determine the legitimacy of the plaintiff’s claims in the coming proceedings.
