The Institute for Economic Affairs (IEA) has announced it will hold presidential debates in October and November 2024.
The Institute says it will hold two presidential debates respectively in Kumasi and Accra for flag bearers selected based on electoral criteria to be set and announced by the Institute.
The Debate will provide candidates the opportunity to articulate their policies and also point out their weaknesses in the policies and programmes of their opponent.
According to the institute, they will hold one Vice-Presidential Debate in Accra for selected Candidates.
You will recall the NDC accused the IEA of acting as proxy for the governing NPP and allegedly manipulating electoral processes to favor their agenda.
Addressing the media here in Accra, Director of research as the IEA, Dr John Kwabena Kwakye said they are determined to organize the debate.
Distinguished fellow at the IEA and the Former Chief Justice, her ladyship Justice Sophia Akufo on her part said the institute will ensure the debate is credible and not to favor any political party.
