Interior Minister Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak has urged Muslims, especially the youth, to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr peacefully and avoid actions that could disrupt the country’s harmony.
He emphasized that Eid should be a time of reflection, reminding Muslims to uphold the values of self-discipline, devotion, and generosity even after Ramadan ends.
“We have sacrificed so much during the 29 days of fasting—denying ourselves food, giving to the needy, and supporting our communities. Let’s not throw all these good deeds away just because of the Eid celebration,” he advised.
He also encouraged celebrants to be mindful of their neighbors, especially those who are not Muslim, and ensure that their festivities do not disturb others.
Beyond Eid, the Minister called on communities experiencing conflicts to set aside their differences and work towards peace, highlighting that national unity is essential for progress.
Delivering his Eid-ul-Fitr message, the Asawase MP urged Muslims to live in harmony with people of all faiths and to pray for President John Dramani Mahama and his government as they strive to fulfill their promises to the nation.
