The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka Mohammed, is set to embark on a two-day working tour of the Ashanti Region on Thursday, April 3 and Friday 4th 2025.
The visit aims to strengthen collaboration between the government and security agencies, as well as assess operational challenges faced by security personnel at the regional level.
As part of his itinerary, the Asawase legislator will first engage with the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC), chaired by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
The council, which comprises regional heads of security agencies, will brief the minister on the security situation in the region in line with security protocols.
Following the REGSEC meeting, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed will visit the regional headquarters of the various security agencies, where he will interact with commanders and personnel.
He is expected to outline the government’s vision for enhancing security and gather firsthand information on their operational needs.
Additionally, the minister will inspect facilities of the security services and receive briefings on pressing challenges that require immediate intervention.
His tour will also include separate meetings with the Ashanti Regional Peace Council, Christian clergy, and Islamic leaders to discuss efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving security infrastructure and fostering strong relationships between state agencies and community leaders.
