Multiple-award winning Broadcaster, Hammer Nti and Gospel artist, McAbraham have together expressed their disgust at the proliferation of profanities on the airwaves.
Lashing out at his colleagues Media practitioners, the host of ‘Hammer Time’ entertainment show on Kumasi-based Pure FM bemoaned the opened utterances of vulgarity by Musicians and Journalists across the country, describing it as insane.
Hammer noted what has become the new normal as absurd and wondered the role the Christian Council, National Media Commission, Owners of Media Houses and Stakeholders, are doing about it.
He stressed that, our moral values are being washed away by these gatekeepers who are supposed to be the fulcrum of ethical living and custom promotion.
“I am disappointed in Black Sherif. He used to have my respect but I must say it’s all gone. I wonder what he was thinking.
How can you be vulgar in a public song and be okay with it without thinking of the impact it will have on the kids who look up to you. It’s very shameful.
Recently, a kid used a vulgar expression of his in his ‘shut up’ song to a teacher. It was so painful to hear of that. Where did we go wrong as a people to allow this as a normality?” Hammer queried.
Adding his voice to the concern, seasoned musician, McAbraham bewailed the eroding moral fiber of the society, led by his colleagues and Media practitioners.
He questioned why media owners will allow some broadcasters to adjudicate marital issues on air when even in Courts’, it’s done in-camera.
“We have lost it as a society. How can we allow these profane sentiments on our radios and Tvs? Let’s think and behave as humans.
Our children are learning from us, we can’t lose it.” He stated.
