The parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Amenfi Central constituency, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has reportedly been attacked by individuals alleged to be affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Adjakaamanso in the Western Region.
Sources indicate that Madam Gyan Cudjoe and her campaign team were returning from a campaign event at Adjakaamanso when a vehicle abruptly intercepted their route.
The assailants allegedly began vandalizing her RAM-branded campaign vehicle.
Eyewitness accounts suggest the attackers are associates of Dr. Albert Wiredu, the NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency.
While the reasons for the attack remain unclear, Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s team has officially filed a complaint at the Wassa Dominase Police Station.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Both parties are yet to release official statements regarding the matter.
