Kennedy Agyapong, a prominent aspirant for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential ticket, has unleashed scathing remarks against former Vice President and 2024 NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, claiming the latter “does not exist” in his life.
In an interview on United Television’s Adekye Nsroma programme, Agyapong dismissed any personal regard for Bawumia when pressed by the host on whether past events from 2023 which left him unhappy, fueled ongoing bitterness.
“I don’t have his time. In my life, he doesn’t exist,” Agyapong stated firmly.
“Because if he existed, I would have committed some bad things that’s how I see myself.”
The former Assin Central MP accused Bawumia of orchestrating attacks against him through proxies, including Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC).
“What Abronye and others are doing, he’s behind it, but he just doesn’t want to say anything,” Agyapong alleged.
He recounted an incident at former President Nana Akufo-Addo’s residence, where he named an individual not present, only for the comment to appear in media the next day.
“Anyone insulting me, he knows,” Agyapong added.
When asked if he would campaign for Bawumia following the NPP primaries should the former Vice President emerge victorious, Agyapong referenced his efforts in the previous election cycle.
“The last time, didn’t I campaign for him? After the campaign, was he able to pick up the phone and call to say thank you? And then they turn around to insult me,” he retorted.
