The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has confirmed that its clinic is now fully operational following a temporary closure due to licensing issues.
The Health Facilities and Regulatory Agency (HeFRA) shut down the KMA Clinic along with nine other health facilities in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, citing operation without valid licenses.
In response, KMA acted quickly to address the concerns raised by HeFRA.
A statement released by the Assembly’s Public Relations Officer, Henrietta A.K. Aboagye, assured the public that the licensing discrepancies have been resolved, leading to the clinic’s reopening on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The statement read in part: “Following the temporal closure of the KMA Clinic by HeFRA, the facility has since been re-opened and is fully operational. The closure was necessitated by licensing discrepancies which have now been resolved between KMA and HeFRA.”
The Assembly’s management reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality and reliable health care services to residents of the Kumasi metropolis.
“Management wishes to assure the public that it remains committed in providing quality and reliable health care services to the people of the metropolis,” the statement added.
They also extended apologies for any inconvenience caused during the brief closure and thanked all stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation.
