Angry artisans at Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday blocked the Suame Post Office road in protest against what they describe as delays in the ongoing Suame Interchange construction project.
The protesters accused the contractor, Rango Construction, of slowing down work on the project and failing to regularly water the road, a situation they say is exposing traders and residents to heavy dust pollution.
The road has reportedly been blocked for more than two hours, bringing traffic in the area to a standstill and causing severe congestion along the busy Suame–ECOWAS road.
A team of police personnel later arrived at the scene to control the situation and restore order while efforts were made to ease the traffic build-up in the area.
