The general public is hereby notified that Monday, 23rd September 2024, has been declared a public holiday by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana. This follows the commemoration of Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, which falls on Saturday, 21st September 2024.
In accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601), the President has, by Executive Instrument (E.I), designated Monday, 23rd September as an additional public holiday since the original holiday falls on a Saturday.
The holiday is to be observed throughout the country in honor of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President and a key figure in the country’s independence movement.
The declaration was signed by the Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey (MP), and all citizens are expected to observe the holiday accordingly.
