The MTN Ghana Foundation has invested more than GH¢100 million in 178 projects across the country since its establishment in 2007, with interventions spanning education, health and enterprise development.
In 2025 alone, the Foundation awarded 500 scholarships to students and teachers across all 16 regions under its Bright Scholarship programme. Beneficiaries are drawn mainly from public tertiary institutions.
MTN Ghana Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Blewett, in a statement issued on Tuesday March 3, 2026 said the Foundation’s work focuses on targeted, measurable impact.
“Our Foundation investments are directed at areas where support is most needed — education, healthcare and economic empowerment. The goal is to produce tangible outcomes, not symbolic projects,” he said.
In the health sector, the Foundation’s “Save a Life” blood donation campaign has collected 46,026 units of blood nationwide in support of the National Blood Service and regional hospitals.
In 2024, the Foundation handed over a 60-bed maternity and neonatal centre to the Keta Municipal Hospital. It also completed an ICT block at Yilo Krobo Senior High School and constructed a STEM robotics laboratory at Mamfe Girls’ SHS in 2025.
On March 5, 2026, the Foundation is scheduled to hand over an Accident and Emergency Block to the Ho Teaching Hospital.
The Foundation has also extended support to small businesses. In 2025, 450 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises received financial and technical assistance under its Enterprise Support Programme.
Additionally, a Vegetable Hub of Excellence was handed over to the University of Ghana’s School of Agriculture to promote technology-driven farming and youth participation in agriculture.
Blewett said the Foundation’s focus remains aligned with national development priorities.
“We are deliberate about supporting sectors that directly affect livelihoods — education, health and enterprise. The Foundation complements our core business by investing in long-term social infrastructure,” he said.
