General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Kwetey, has revealed that the party chose Tamale as the launch grounds for their National campaign because it is where the “heartbeat of our party is strong”.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Kwetey stated, “We needed to be in a place where the heartbeat of our party is strong.
When you want to launch campaigns of this nature, you need to go to places where you feel your spirit can get far more energy and naturally Tamale fell very rightly.
” He emphasized the significance of Tamale, saying, “Some of us were pretty much instrumental in making it happen because it is home and normally, if you want to go on a very important journey, Tamale represents the place”.
Kwetey recalled the 2008 campaign, saying, “I remember vividly the spirit that Tamale represented when we came here setting the records straight and how it became critical moving from Tamale to the rest of the country.
” He described the campaign as “destiny-changing”, stating, “This country’s destiny is on the line”.
