The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is mourning the loss of Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, President of the party’s Professionals Forum (ProForum), whose death has been confirmed by NDC National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi.
Ambassador Yalley was a distinguished lawyer and dedicated public servant. He held degrees from the University of Ghana, Central University College, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
His career encompassed significant roles, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA). In 2014, he was appointed Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
In 2018, Ambassador Yalley was elected as the inaugural President of the NDC’s Professionals Forum, an organization uniting professionals such as doctors, nurses, lawyers, lecturers, engineers, and communicators to support the party’s objectives.
Under his leadership, the ProForum played a pivotal role in mobilizing professional expertise to advance the NDC’s mission
Ambassador Yalley’s contributions extended to the NDC’s 2020 election campaign, where he was a key member of the campaign team. His strategic insights and leadership were instrumental in shaping the party’s approach during that period.
The NDC and the nation at large have lost a dedicated public servant whose efforts significantly impacted Ghana’s political landscape. Details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated by the family in due course.
