The Northern Regional Executives of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have concluded a region-wide tour of all 18 constituencies, aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement, party unity, and confidence in the Mahama-led government.
The tour, led by the Northern Regional Minister and Regional Chairman of the NDC, Ali Adolf John Mburudiba, took the party leadership to constituencies including Zabzugu, Tatale, Yendi, Mion, Karaga, Savelugu, Kumbungu and Sagnarigu, among others.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the Northern Regional Secretary of the party, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, said the tour marked the final phase of an extensive engagement exercise designed to reconnect the party leadership with its base.
“The tour provided an opportunity to thank our gallant constituency executives and grassroots leaders for their immense sacrifices and hard work, while reflecting collectively on the future direction of our great party,” he stated.
According to Abdul-Salam, the engagements also served as a moment of reassurance for party supporters following the NDC’s return to power in the 2024 general elections.
“Our party’s victory was not accidental. It was achieved through the commitment, resilience and sacrifices of our grassroots supporters,” he said, adding that the win has “brought meaningful change and renewed confidence to our grassroots base and to the good people of Ghana.”
He further reaffirmed the party’s confidence in the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, assuring supporters that the government remains focused on inclusive development.
“The government led by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama will continue to work tirelessly to build a Ghana that works for everyone, especially the grassroots, the teeming youth and loyal supporters of our great party,” Abdul-Salam noted.
The Regional Secretary also urged party executives and supporters to remain patient and committed, assuring them that their sacrifices would not be overlooked.
“No sacrifice made for the growth and success of our party will go unnoticed. Every contribution, in one way or another, will be duly recognised,” he emphasized.
Abdul-Salam concluded by describing the continued public support for the NDC as evidence of effective governance, stressing that both the party and government remain committed to delivering on their promises.
“The overwhelming endorsement our party continues to receive is a clear testament to the positive results of good governance,” he said.
