The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Mr. Kpeli Worlase, a member of the party in the Afram Plains North constituency of the Eastern Region, over allegations of anti-party conduct.
According to a statement signed by the General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party took the decision to suspend Mr. Worlase after deliberating on various acts of misconduct attributed to him.
The allegations include campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate and other forms of anti-party conduct in the constituency.
The statement said the suspension takes effect immediately, and the matter has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for adjudication.
Mr. Worlase has been invited to appear before the Disciplinary Committee for a hearing, and the committee will submit a report with recommendations to FEC for further action.
The suspension letter was copied to the Regional Chairman, Regional Secretary, Constituency Chairman, and Constituency Secretary of the Eastern Region, as well as the Parliamentary Candidate for Afram Plains North constituency.
This development comes as the NDC prepares for the 2024 general elections, and the party is taking steps to ensure discipline and unity among its members.
