The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John Mburudiba, has extended Christmas greetings to Christians across the Northern Region, urging them to uphold the values of peace, unity, love and compassion that define the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a Christmas message to chiefs and traditional leaders, Christian clergy, opinion leaders and residents of the region, the Minister described Christmas as a sacred season that calls for humility, sacrifice and goodwill towards all humanity.
“Christmas reminds us of the virtues of love, compassion and selfless service, which are essential to peaceful coexistence and the collective development of our communities,” Hon. Mburudiba said.
He encouraged Christians to reflect on the teachings of Christ and allow those values to guide their personal lives and interactions within their communities, stressing that forgiveness, unity and mutual respect remain critical to building a peaceful and prosperous Northern Region.
The Regional Minister underscored the importance of harmony among the region’s diverse religious and cultural groups, noting that unity and shared responsibility are key to sustaining peace and accelerating development. He called on residents to recommit themselves to tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
“Development thrives best in an environment of peace and understanding, and we must continue to work together across religious and cultural lines to move the Northern Region forward,” he stated.
On behalf of the Government of Ghana, Hon. Mburudiba reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents of the region through policies and interventions aimed at enhancing livelihoods, strengthening social cohesion and promoting sustainable development.
He also commended religious leaders for their role in moral guidance, youth development and peacebuilding, describing their prayers and leadership as vital to stability and national development.
As the festive season unfolds, the Minister urged families and communities to celebrate with moderation and gratitude, while extending support to the less privileged and vulnerable in society.
Hon. Mburudiba expressed hope that the birth of Christ would usher peace into homes, strengthen community bonds and renew faith in a shared future anchored on justice, opportunity and prosperity.
He concluded by wishing Christians in the Northern Region a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, invoking blessings for the region and the nation at large.
